Returning to Self While the World Burns
I needed to step away from the fire for a minute.
Not because I stopped caring.
Not because I’m giving up.
But because I could feel the constant urgency settling into my body in ways that were no longer healthy.
This video became a reflection on exhaustion, sacred activism, creativity, gardening, nervous system overwhelm, and what it means to remain human while living through systems that are unraveling in real time.
I talk about the spiral toward authoritarianism, Christian patriarchy, doomscrolling, opening too many tabs, forgetting to eat, the comfort of tending gardens, and why “Mind the Gap” became a metaphor I could no longer ignore.
Somewhere between the birds, the flowers, the stretching, the tears, and the seedlings needing watered, I realized something important:
Collective resistance will require people who remember they are worth saving too.
