Sending you so much love in this pause with your beautiful surroundings within and amidst your hobby farm. My youngest granddaughter 10 just got a coop and laying hens. She’s a joy to listen and watch as she shares her experiences with me. It helps me tap into my younger self and start from a different place

Pink Floyd’s lyrics tie into a Lee Harris message I listened to the other evening.

One of his points resonated with me deeply

“Let the purge in you happen. You are (literally) sick and tired of the past”

Clarifying I have been on a deep archeological dig within myself for almost two decades. Pausing here and there and I see I arrived where I needed to be at the right time. No rushing.

Rev Karla, may you trust we will be here alongside you hopefully practicing OUR pauses. You don’t owe us anything but you do owe yourself whatever your soul is calling you to focus on!!

Hugs of light love and peace

💛❤️☮️

Thank you, Espy. Til then, enjoy my stories, even the heartbreaking ones. I feel you holding the space with me. It's helping me to let go and be more vulnerable with you. I appreciate that.

Oh Rev Karla, your absence was noticed but never judged. You are such a tender Soul, I hope you do not judge yourself. You don’t deserve that. You write exquisite essays for us that we learn from and cherish, but never can we judge you, nor would I want to. I think you’re awesome. Please just write when you can. Life is busy! I’m sorry about little Cosmo, but I’m glad your other baby chicks are thriving. I found a baby squirrel when I was quite young and tried to nurse it back to health with no guidance. I called him Li’l Whiskers. I was very sad for a long time when he died, but I buried him in a shoebox in the backyard. All with no one else knowing. I still wish I had had the nerve to ask my mother what to feed him. I’m 72! I still like squirrels but I love my dogs more. 😉

I love to discover others who feel these losses deeply. They change us, and yet we are better for it. Thank you for sharing Li'l Whiskers' story who, too, was here and mattered.

This writing came at a good time, as I reviewed my house/hobby ranch expenses today and felt deep grief, fear, and overwhelm.

I am struggling to integrate and accept the lesson of what I’ll call duality - the blessing alongside the hardship/loss, the alleged silver lining of the storm cloud. I, too, feel the gift and burden of seeing around the corners and down the road to what will come and trying to be prepared for it. Today it’s a heavy burden and I’m grappling with regret of past choices and deciding what to do to safeguard an uncertain future.

I suppose I will just feed my animals, exercise my body, and look to the horizon…
